Last Thursday evening marked a very special occasion for the Music Academy of the West and our Women’s Auxiliary – the launch of the Auxiliary’s Special Envoy Program. This new initiative pairs current Auxiliary members with prospective new members in order to learn more about the mission and traditions of the Auxiliary and the Academy. The Auxiliary’s philanthropy supports the full scholarship program for the Summer Festival that brings fellows to Santa Barbara from around the world to study and perform for the community and the year-round Sing! choral program for local elementary students that is all free of charge. The Auxiliary is also a place where lifelong friendships begin!
To celebrate the Special Envoy Program, both current and prospective members of the Women’s Auxiliary were invited to an Infusion Cocktail Party at the Music Academy hosted by Ashley Woods Hollister along with Music Academy President & CEO Scott Reed. The guests enjoyed food, fellowship, and delicious drinks – all made with T.W. Hollister & Co.’s own Oso de Oro Vermouth!
In all, 39 (!) prospects attended, the most potential new members to ever attend a gathering of the Women’s Auxiliary. This exciting new program and the women involved – whether they be Special Envoys with years of service or brand new to the Academy – have the chance to leave a lasting mark on the Women’s Auxiliary and the Music Academy of the West.
