yMusic, the genre-leading American chamber ensemble, featuring Music Academy trumpet alum CJ Camerieri, continues its collaboration with sensational California composer Gabriella Smith, performing a new work that invites us to commune with the fragile beauty of the natural world.

ABOUT AQUATIC ECOLOGY
Gabriella Smith’s new score, a blend of acoustic performance with raw and processed field recordings, is an invitation to the listener to commune and connect with the fragile beauty of the natural world threatened by climate change. “Magnificent and mind-blowingly original… her [music] speaks for itself—eloquently, ferociously and with a palette of instrumental sounds that land as both familiar and strikingly new” (San Francisco Chronicle).

The ultimate summer training center for today’s artist. 137 musicians from around the world, ages 18-34, study and perform for eight weeks with 60+ teaching and celebrity artists in the spectacular coastal setting of Santa Barbara, California, all just steps from the beach. Fellows are immersed in opera, orchestra, chamber music, private instruction, public masterclasses and more. Incredible career-advancing opportunities and a community of friends and colleagues who will be a lifelong network await.
