John Saladino

Biography

Born in Kansas City, MI, John Saladino studied at Notre Dame University and the Yale School of Art and Architecture. After graduating, he spent some years in Rome, where he worked with the Italian architect Piero Sartogo. Upon his return to the US, Saladino settled in New York City and opened his own architectural and design practice (The Saladino Group). In 1986, he started his furniture company, which is currently operating in the renowned New York Design Center. Throughout its 40 years of existence, The Saladino Group has provided furniture collections for companies such as Dunbar, Bloomingdale’s, Knapp, and Tubbs, and designed hundreds of interiors for corporate, commercial and private clients. Saladino’s personal style has been applauded broadly. He is the recipient of numerous interior design and furniture awards, including the prestigious Daphne Furniture Award.

Saladino’s interiors are regularly featured in international magazines. Among these are House & Garden, House Beautiful, The New York Times Magazine, Architectural Digest, Vogue Decoration, and The World of Interiors. Currently, Saladino lives in Santa Barbara, where he has completed highly praised projects, such as The Villa, an old rustic house he remodeled for his wife and himself.
