Biography

JIHYUN HWANG ('20) 25, born in Seoul, Korea, earned a master’s degree at Yale School of Music studying with Paul Watkins and Ole Akahoshi. Jihyun won first place in the 2012 Buam Music Competition, and second place in the 2010 Strad Music Competition. She is a member of the Yale Philharmonia, and served as principal cellist in the Seoul National University Symphony Orchestra from 2015-2018.
