Biography

ELENI KATZ ('20) 25, born in Madison, Wisconsin, completed her master’s degree at the Yale School of Music studying with Frank Morelli. She is an Associate Member with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and substitute with the New World Symphony. Eleni is also Co-Artistic Director of the Marea Duo, a vocal and double reed chamber ensemble, with her oboe colleague Amelia Merriman at the Yale School of Music.

Eleni Katz has always loved the art of performance. She is a passionate orchestral player, chamber musician, and soloist who has appeared in concerts across the country. Eleni previously received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she was mentored by Marc Vallon. Eleni was a semi- finalist in the Meg Quigley Vivaldi Competition and winner in the Woolsey Hall Concerto Competition. She has attended Orchestra of the Americas, National Repertory Orchestra, Chautauqua Institution, Brevard Music Center, and IMANI Winds, Madeline Island, Norfolk, and Lake George Chamber Music Festivals. This summer, Eleni will return to the Lake George Music Festival.
