Biography

Cheryl Goldberg is a technology executive and philanthropist with a commitment to music education and the arts. A native of Illinois, she earned a degree in History with a minor in German Literature from Northern Illinois University and an MBA with a concentration in Information Technology from the University of Chicago, including a formative year of study in Salzburg, Austria.

Cheryl built a successful career designing and implementing computer systems for major organizations including Sears, Roebuck and Co., Blue Cross Blue Shield Association, Crown Zellerbach, and Union Pacific Railroad’s Electronics Research and Development Group.

A devoted supporter of the Music Academy of the West, Cheryl is the Founding Contributor to the Music Academy’s future Music Education Center. Her transformative $20 million gift honors the legacy of her late husband, Michael Goldberg, and reflects her belief in the power of music to enrich communities.
