Amy Ksandr

Biography

AMY KSANDR, a 2017 Percussion Studio Music Academy alumna born in Des Plaines, Illinois, earned bother her graduate certificate and master's degrees at USC’s Thornton School of Music, where she studied with Joseph Pereira, principal timpanist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and James Babor, percussionist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Amy is currently a freelance musician in the Los Angeles area and has performed as an extra musician with the Los Angeles Philharmonic,  Santa Barbara Symphony, Green Umbrella,  Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, and more.

Amy  recently received the title of “Grammy Winning” artist thanks to her involvement and recording of the "Ives Complete Symphonies” 2021 album with the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Gustavo Dudamel. In 2018 and 2019 she performed on two international tours with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Amy has attended the Music Academy of the West, the Spoleto Festival USA, and more. In her free time, Amy loves coffee, hiking, rock climbing, and watching horror movies.
