Britta Young

Britta grew up moving around the country with her family, with time spent in Tennessee, Maine, New York and Louisiana, but she's been happy to call Santa Barbara home since 2005. She studied art in her undergraduate years and completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking at the University of Iowa. After graduating she worked in education, teaching visual and language arts, before joining the administration team in the fall of 2022.

As the manager of the Music Academy's front office and assistant to the president, she enjoys the opportunity to use her talent for organization and eye for detail while working with a broad community of patrons, staff and Board members. When she’s not at the front desk, she can be found practicing yoga, hosting dinner parties with her neighbors, or painting and sketching in the foothills of Santa Barbara.
