Biography

Kayla recently earned her bachelor’s degree from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Joshua Conyers. She has also studied with Kathleen Cowdrick and Ruth Hennessy. She was a finalist in the 2024 Schmidt Vocal Undergraduate Competition and winner of the 2023 Mary E. Singletary Vocal Arts Competition. She performed numerous roles with the Eastman Opera Theater, such as Anne in Heggie's To Hell and Back, Oberto (cover) in Handel's Alcina, and Paula in Catán's Florencina en el Amazonas. Kayla also performed as a back-up singer for Jon Batiste in the American Symphony Orchestra at Carnegie Hall.
