Peter Barber

Biography

Peter Barber is in his third year as a Resident Artist at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia. He received the Honors Graduate Award in 2020 from the University of Southern California, where he completed his master’s degree. He was also the Encouragement Award Winner in the Mentoris Voice Competition and a finalist in the Robert DeSimone Memorial Voice Competition. His signature roles are Figaro in Le nozze di Figaro, Bottom in Midsummer Night’s Dream, Prince Gremin in Eugene Onegin, Sarastro in The Magic Flute, and Schaunard in La bohème. He is looking forward to spending another summer in Santa Barbara – he was a fellow at the Music Academy Summer Festival in 2019. Peter will sing the role of Colline in La bohème during the 2023 Summer Festival.
