Jay Raman

Biography

Jay Raman is the director of the Cultural Programs Division in the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, which manages the Department’s global performing arts, visual arts, film, and humanities exchanges.  Jay is a career Foreign Service Officer with prior postings in Cambodia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Estonia, and the Dominican Republic.  He has a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a B.A. in International Studies from the University of Tennessee, with a minor in music performance (tuba).
