Biography

Mia Paul is a cellist involved in solo, chamber, and orchestral music. Notable ensembles Mia has partaken in include the San Louis Obispo Symphony, Santa Barbara Chamber Players, Ensemble Theatre Company Santa Barbara, and the Winter Solstice Chamber Orchestra at The Granada Theatre. Mia has performed at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini in Venice, Italy, as well as recorded at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, CA. Mia Paul is currently in her last year at UC Santa Barbara, studying with Jennifer Kloetzel and Diane Chaplin.

At UC Santa Barbara, Mia has performed in masterclasses for the Juilliard String Quartet, Kronos Quartet, and Callisto Quartet. During the weekends, Mia instructs Santa Barbara youth musicians as a Professional Music Educator for Santa Barbara Strings, Site Coordinator for Music Academy of the West’s Sing! program, and cello coach for Santa Barbara Symphony’s Youth Camerata and Philharmonia.

Outside of music, Mia is the Executive Assistant for the Associated Students Office of the President, a student of the Letters and Sciences Honors Program, a research assistant in the UCSB Music and Brain Cognition Lab, as well as a Professional Writing Business Communication and Educational studies double minor.
